10,000+ athlete and delegation registrations across all 36 states. Public platform, vendor food ops, and hostel systems delivered and used through the games.

Ogun State hosted the National Sports Festival in 2024 and needed more than a marketing site. Athletes and officials from all 36 states needed registration, schedules, venues, and medal standings on mobile, while operations teams needed vendor food coordination and hostel management in parallel. I led product design across all three systems for the event.

A national festival generates constant public questions (when, where, who is leading) while back-office teams must feed delegations and track accommodation at the same time. Answers were scattered across social posts, paper lists, and WhatsApp threads. Peak event days meant mobile traffic spikes and zero tolerance for confusing navigation.

  • Separated public spectator needs (schedules, venues, medals) from ops needs (vendor food, hostel beds) so one confused IA would not break both.
  • Studied peak-day mobile behaviour: athletes, officials, and families scanning under time pressure with uneven digital literacy.
  • Mapped where paper lists and WhatsApp threads failed for food service and accommodation across 36-state delegations.
  • Led the public platform with countdown, search, and official festival identity for athletes, fans, and officials.
  • Structured news, sports categories, venues on a map, and medal tables for fast scanning on mobile during peak days.
  • Designed a vendor management system so athlete food service could be coordinated across venues during the games.
  • Built a hostel management system so delegation accommodation was tracked alongside the public festival platform.
  • Matched Ogun State green-and-gold branding across infographics, galleries, and partner blocks for one credible official presence.
  • Prioritized low-literacy-friendly flows for registration and lookup because users ranged from athletes to officials to family spectators.
  • Shipped three focused systems (public platform, vendors, hostels) instead of one overloaded mega-app that would fail under event pressure.
  • Made venues map and medal standings primary scan surfaces on mobile, not buried secondary pages.
  • Kept official green-and-gold branding consistent across public and ops surfaces so the festival read as one credible government product.
  • 10,000+ athlete and official registrations processed across delegations from all 36 states.
  • Schedules, venues, and medal standings findable on mobile during peak event traffic.
  • Vendor management system coordinated food service for athletes throughout the games.
  • Hostel management replaced paper lists and WhatsApp threads for delegation stays.
  • Three production systems delivered for one national event: public platform, vendors, and hostels.
